Further training is a top priority for us. After all, perfection and innovation form part of ATZWANGER's daily operations. As HR Manager Edoard Pöhl explains, internal training courses are an important pillar of professional training at ATZWANGER.
Training in integrated management systems
The first major event of the year took place on 31 January and 7 February, lasting two whole days. It was an extensive training programme involving a large number of employees. „“The aim was to train our construction site personnel, senior fitters and project managers in our integrated management system,” explains Arnold Lunger, CFO. “This consists of ISO certifications for quality management (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management (ISO 14001:2015), and occupational health and safety management (ISO 45001:2018).” It was of course a challenge to organise this complex training course to the satisfaction and benefit of all participants.
Courses for welders
Every year, courses for welders as well as examinations are on the programme. ‘They are designed to ensure that our quality standards and qualifications continue to be maintained,’ emphasises Lunger. A PE welding course took place at Mitterer Rohre in Terlan on 4 and 5 February. Shortly afterwards, a final welding test took place at our ATZWANGER warehouse in Bolzano.
ESG - Sustainability
"The topic of sustainability is very important and is becoming increasingly significant," says Lunger. 'As a company, we are already taking action and preparing internally. Since February, some employees have been attending an ESG master's course to become 'Sustainability Managers', and they successfully completed it in July.'
Project manager training
An internal specialisation course on the targeted use of MS Project software was held for our project managers on the 28th and 29th of July. This software enables complex and long-term projects to be managed even more effectively. The expert trainer was Harald Zimmerhofer.
Individual further training
But that's not all the offer includes: 'Our employees have many opportunities for further training,' emphasises HR Manager Pöhl. 'Everyone can attend individual courses to keep up to date or specialise. This could be in accounting, VAT or AutoCAD, for example." As part of the employee appraisal process, individuals are asked to select the courses they would like to take. Based on this and what is necessary in the course of new developments, the HR office then draws up training plans.
Occupational safety is a huge and constantly present topic, as the HR manager explains. 'The issue is manageable in the offices, but essential on the construction sites.'
