A 5-star luxury family hotel has opened in Caorle, and we at ATZWANGER were part of the project. With our tailor-made technology, we ensure a first-class swimming experience.
“A well-known family of hoteliers from Gröden/Val Gardena bought an old holiday resort in Caorle and turned it into a luxury hotel, entirely in keeping with their brand’s style,” explains Matthias Egger, ATZWANGER’s project manager. “This naturally includes a large wellness area with a variety of facilities.”
Thrice pure water fun
The spacious family pool area features indoor and outdoor pools with massage jets and indoor bubble seats, as well as bubble loungers outdoors. There is also a baby and kids’ pool with attractions. The heated water guarantees unadulterated swimming fun, even in bad weather.
A particular highlight is the ‘Lazy Pool’, with its organic shape and gently sloping floor. Here, parents can accompany their children as they enjoy their first splashes in the water and play with different water attractions.
On the top floor, far from the hustle and bustle of family life, there is an exclusive retreat featuring a spa, saunas, and a panoramic infinity pool with sea view.
A sensible approach to resources
“Of course, we use state-of-the-art, energy- and resource-efficient pool water technology,” explains Egger. “Firstly, heat recovery reduces energy consumption. What's more, the water used to flush the filters is specially treated and reused for watering the garden.”
A great challenge
“Every project has its own unique features and challenges,” says the project manager with a smile. “Of course, Caorle isn’t exactly on our doorstep, so coordinating the construction site requires careful planning. After all, you can’t just send someone over for a few hours.” However, the five-month halt to construction in the summer is also quite a hassle.
In terms of construction, the 'Lazy Pool' was a challenging project as it is manufactured using a specific process involving prefabricated components. “Work on the individual components must be carried out alongside the technical work, as the pipes are inserted or cast in during the manufacturing process”.
Even a rooftop pool requires precise planning. “The pool’s plumbing doesn’t just sit underneath,” explains the expert. “You have to install connecting pipes and work out the best route for them, so the water can flow up and down as quickly as possible.” At the same time, a container is needed to collect the overflow water. It should be large enough to hold the required volume, yet as space-saving and unobtrusive as possible.
“Seeing everyone happy at the end is always a real highlight,” says Matthias Egger.
