ATZWANGER Salzburg has moved

A new base for the team in Austria

“The branch in Salzburg was our first one abroad,” recalls Past President Paul Atzwanger. “We had already begun successfully installing pool water technology in Austria. But managing it from Bolzano was quite laborious and complicated in terms of tax regulations.” So in 1975, the decision was made to open a branch in Innsbruck, which moved to Salzburg two years later. A very central location for serving the Austrian market.

“We quickly gained a foothold and thanks to the almost 30 employees who were part of the branch from the very beginning, we were able to take on orders throughout Austria, including larger ones,” says Paul Atzwanger with satisfaction. “These included a whole series of indoor district pools in Vienna as well as outdoor pools across the country.”

ATZWANGER has now been operating directly in Austria for 50 years, 48 of which have been at the same rented premises. No wonder it was bursting at the seams and was in need of renovation. After years of effort, a suitable property was finally purchased ... and in January of this year, the time had come: the renovation work and the move could begin.

“More space was urgently needed,” emphasizes Andrea Schnurrer, Authorized Signatory in Salzburg. She has been with the company for 32 years and of course played a key role in the move. “We started in January, renovating the floors, designing new offices, setting up the warehouse and workshop,” she explains. “We then moved in from mid-March. A move like this is always stressful, but everything went really well.”

The entire building belongs to ATZWANGER, although part of it is currently still rented to the Federal Ministry, which will move out later this year. “There will therefore be another small conversion within 2025,” says Schnurrer. “The service and maintenance workshop will then move to the 2nd floor.”

“We now have 33 employees here in Salzburg, we build pool water treatment systems for outdoor pools, indoor pools, spas and hotels,” she explains, “and we also do the maintenance for them.” And now we do everything from our own building, in a modern environment adapted to our requirements.
