In Landsberg am Lech, everything was ready just in time for the start of the season: the dye test could go ahead. That’s because we at ATZWANGER had installed the new pool water treatment plant on schedule.
Neon green water
What looks like a colourful highlight of a special event is actually a standard test in swimming pool construction in Germany. “It is carried out in the presence of a representative from the public health authority,” explains Andreas Eschgfeller, the project manager in charge at ATZWANGER. “The powdered dye is dissolved in warm water and fed into the main pipe. Within half an hour, the whole pool turns colourful, usually purple or neon green.” The time is recorded and checked to ensure the water flows exactly where it’s supposed to. “After all, every corner must be supplied with fresh, clean water,” explains the expert.
Inselbad with special flair
Landsberg has a traditional outdoor swimming pool, but in a unique location: right on the banks of the Lech, with access to the river beach. It has now been extensively renovated – with new stainless-steel pools, a modernised wave pool, sustainable energy systems and the new pool water treatment from ATZWANGER.
“Our standards naturally include energy-efficient methods, control systems and state-of-the-art technology,” emphasises Eschgfeller.
Following the successful test, the swimming pool was handed over after around a year of work. “The autumn was a particularly busy time, as all the external pipes had to be laid before the start of winter. And the pool covers a large area,” recalls the project manager.
