Major project in Regensburg

The ‘Sportpark Ost’ features an athletics hall and an indoor swimming pool

‘This was a major project not only for the city of Regensburg, but also for ATZWANGER,’ says Andreas Eschgfeller, the project manager responsible. The ‘Sportpark Ost’ sports complex, which features an athletics hall and an indoor swimming pool, was built on the site of the former Prince Leopold Barracks. A development boost for the east of the city and a modern training opportunity for schools, clubs and citizens.

ATZWANGER was responsible not only for the traditional pool water treatment, but also for all the control systems, ventilation systems and hot water preparation systems. After all, the sports hall, showers and swimming pool each required their own circuit and ventilation system.

The control systems in particular played a key role in all areas. A total of five control cabinets had to be planned and implemented for the whole complex, including cabling. With all the deadlines to meet and the tests and inspections to carry out, the ‘Sportpark Ost’ was a demanding and complex project. It was no coincidence that Stefan Rainer, the technician responsible for commissioning, spent six months on site!

‘We have certainly grown with these challenges,’ emphasises Eschgfeller.
