Thermal Energy Storage Tower Bolzano

The new 43-meter-high tower, which was built by Atzwanger AG together with partner companies, stores the energy from the waste heat of the waste incineration plant and will balance the peak loads of the heat consumption of the district heating network. Architecturally the heat storage, it is covered with a backlit aluminum façade. Through different sized holes in the cladding, which emulate water bubbles, in combination with several hundred LEDs, creates in the evening an impressive play of colors.
